Weekly forecast
The forecast is for a continuation of the unsettled and cooler weather. An initial moderate northerly wind is predicted to give dry weather with sunny intervals until Wednesday. Following this the wind will change to a gentle west/south westerly for the remainder of the week giving showers and longer periods of rain along with sunny intervals. Maximum temperatures will be 15 to 17 with minimums of 7 to 12.
Road race results
Darren Stacey ran the Dartmoor Discovery on Saturday 8th of June. This race is the longest single lap road race in England and over the 32.5 miles includes 4040 ft of climb. Darren finished this very tough road ultra in 4.09.29 for 9th overall and 3rd V40.
On Sunday 3 Weston members travelled deep into Wales to take part in the Swansea half marathon. Chris Shergold finished in 1.22.39 followed by Bil Green who was 6th in his category in 1.32.13 and Michelle Fryer in 1.39.18.
The Chew Valley 10k saw the largest contingent of WAC runners today with 8 members taking part. Toby Norman was 1st WAC man in 39.18 followed by Steve Kibblewhite in 44.07, Marc Robinson in 50,05 and Phil Brett in 64.08. Kirsty Dearing was 1st WAC lady in 59.48 followed by Vic Collins in 66.04, Steph Shute in 67.22 and Lindsey Clifford in 85.50.
3 WAC members took part in the Bradley Stoke 10k on Sunday. Dave Groves was 1st WAC finisher in 45.13 and 1st V55 followed by Chris Woolley in 1.09.21 and Sharon Groves in 1.17.23.
2 WAC members ran the Crewkerne 10k on Sunday which is one of the of the Somerset Series races. Rachael Vincent finished in 52:47 for 2nd FV 55+ and Niki Fulstow finished in 53:08 and 3rd FV 45 – 54

No results that we are aware of this week.
Multi Event results
Ben Nicholas took part in the 43-mile Mendip lakes and lumps cycle ride.

Membership Renewal 1/4/24
Renewal was due by 31/5, thank you to the 6 members who have renewed this week. The membership list shows that there are still 69 people who were members in the 23/24 period who have yet to renew.
Weston AC Social Facebook Group members review
With the membership renewal period finishing we will shortly review the membership of the Weston AC social group leaving only current club members active.

Channel Events
Channel events are a Community Interest Company who put on many running, cycling swimming, kayaking etc. events in the South-West. They have offered all members a 10% discount off entry fees by using the code WAC10.

Evening session for Monday the 10th of June is ‘Play Station 6’.
Meet- 6:50pm for 7pm start Uphill Boat Yard BS23 4XR.

The Wednesday swim sessions 20.20 to 21.30 at Burnham-on-Sea pool
Over winter is the ideal time to brush up and develop your swimming technique, ideal prep for next season. Suitable for beginners to seasoned triathletes, injured runners – develop your aerobic capacity and muscles you didn’t know existed
Sessions can be booked in blocks of five (£32.50) or ten (£55.00) ad hoc PAY as you GO (£6.50) sessions occasionally available, for PAYG – please ask if there’s space prior to session
