Weekly forecast
The forecast for this week shows a continuing fairly settled week to come until Saturday although with cooler days and nights. Wind will be mainly south to south easterly gentle to moderate, it will be mainly light cloud giving temperatures of 8 to 10 max and 2 to 4 minimum.
Road race results
No road races that we are aware of this week, but Tuesday saw the charity timed mile take place with over 50 WAC runners taking part. Results are now on the website with Chris McMillan leading the way in 4.37 just 3 secs off his pb.
Saturday saw a good number of WAC runners taking part in the local parkruns with Kieron Summers setting another new course age cat pb whilst being first in the run at Weston of 16.40 with Ian Connock right behind setting a new course pb for him of 16.46.
Off-Road race results
Saturday 4th saw Guy Bradford travel to Brecon Beacons to take part in another of the South Wales winter hill series races the Hatterrall Hammer. This race is 3.1 miles with 1138 ft of climb. Guy finished 4th MV50 in 35.46 after having reached the Trig in 24.36.
Yesterday saw 13 WAC runners take on the Jurassic Express off-road half marathon. 11 runners took on the 13.5-mile course with 2 taking on the slightly shorter 10 mile event. The race starts at Swanage, goes through Studland and finishes at Corfe after 1800ft of climb. A gang of cave people (if you have seen the pictures) accompanied a friendly looking dinosaur (called Kev) and finished together in 3 hours 7 minutes.
Sunday saw 11 WAC runners take on the Doynton hard (off-road) half marathon. Andrew Galey was 1st WAC man in 2.15.25, followed by Shane Connolly in 2.21.54 and Steve Delve in 2.22.58. Dawn Kinghorn was 1st WAC lady in 3.05.34 with Kat Lynn 2nd in 3.05.36 and Chrissy Attenborough in 3.17.12

Time trial results
You can find the results of the mile by looking at the members tab on the website and then clicking club events and clicking on the event.
If you did not give Sheryl or Jim your time and you want it recorded drop Jim Wotton a message or a DM.
If you are logged in to the website you can also click on the next tab down on the members page to see the results that are currently held for you.
The Monday TWAC session this week 6/2/23 will meet at 6.50 at the Red Cow, Brent Knoll. – session is named 40-40-in. After a warm-up to the top of the Knoll there will be 40 minutes of timed 1-minute and 2-minute efforts (with recoveries) for you to run or walk at your own pace. Suitable for everybody. The Wednesday swim sessions at Burnham-on-Sea pool re-started 4/1
The next block of sessions now need to be booked and paid for and payment for the next 10 sessions (starting 1st Feb) becomes due. Numbers limited so please pay a soon as you can to reserve your place.
Wednesday evenings 20:20 – 21:30 Burnham on Sea pool. £55 for 10 sessions (£32.50 for 5 if work takes you away).

We now have the February code for the 10% discount and free postage on orders from Sportsshoes (min order value £50). This code is on the WAC members social fb page for WAC member use only. Please ask Jim, Helen, or Julia if you do not access to fb and wish to put in an order with them. (NB Now excludes Brooks shoes)
We currently have a full set of the yellow club kit sizes available. New members can pick up their kit after training on Tuesday night at the seafront. Come along at about 6.50 or 7.45/8.00 and find Jim Wotton. If you cannot get to the seafront let Chris Loach or Jim Wotton know and we will see what we can do. Ladies kit comes in sizes 8, 10, 12 etc.

Tuesday session – Meet from 6.50pm at the Shelter between the Trop and Revo. Rep/Interval session to be taken by Carol, Sheryl, Nick, Jason, or Jim

Thursday – Group runs from Hutton Moor – meet car park 6.50. This week 4 Bridges route.
Saturday AM session – 8.00am Meet point TBC session to be taken by Jason – suitable for all abilities.
