Weekly forecast
The weather is forecast to continue very unsettled this week with rain most days but some sunny intervals too. A gentle breeze will change to a west/south westerly moderate breeze with heavier rain and fresh breeze with gusts up to 45 mph Wednesday pm to Thursday. Max temperature 12 to 15 and minimum night temperatures 7 to 10.
Road race results
Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th October has seen members take part in marathons in Wales. Ireland and Germany.
Saturday saw 4 members take part in the Eryri marathon (previously known as the Snowdonia marathon). Steve Kibblewhite finished in 3.53.41, followed by George Mccallum in a new pb of 3.59.01 and Kev Howells and Sue Knight in 5.03.28.
Sunday saw the largest WAC contingent competing with 6 members completing the wet and dry Dublin Marathon. Rob Robertson set a new PB when going under 3 hours for the first time of 2.58.30, Shan McCarthy followed setting a new pb of 4.22.55 as did Sam Walkley in 4.31.07 and Kimberley McLoughlin in 4.36.19. An unfortunately unwell Tarisa Barker finished in 4.55.09 with an injured Dawn Kinghorn finishing in 5.09.25.
Andrew Owen took part in the Frankfurt Marathon on Sunday setting a new pb of 3.02.16.
Georgie Ford took part in her first 10k road race for quite some time and completed the DBMax Lightning bolt 10k at Langley Burell. Georgie set a new pb of 44.38.
Off-Road race results
Sunday saw 3 WAC runners take part in the Southville road runners organised Nightingale Nightmare 10k. Niki Fulstow was 1st WAC finisher in 52.39 followed by Rachael Vincent in 52.48 and Sarah Harris in 56.50.

A new tab has been added to the website under members/2023 Championship which is a points summary. The latest summary will show the position after the 19/10 Prom run.
A link has been added on the points summary page making it easier for you to find the detailed points position and list of the 2023 championship races.
Clevedon Parkrun on the 18/11 has been added to the list of races in the 5k category.

The next event of the 23/24 series is 9/11/23. Do not forget there will be no entry on the night with entries for the 9/11 race closing at 9.00pm on Tuesday the 7th of Nov.
Xmas Cracker volunteers
Latest news today is that we still need more volunteers to make the race the success that we want so if you have not got your response in yet can you please take a few minutes to get it back to Nicky.
TWAC
TWAC session this week 30/10/23 is titled ‘Frightening Fell Race – Teddy Bears Picnic’ meet 6.50 Webbington Car parks W3W: Elsewhere.jelly.skyrocket
This week will be a 10K fell race for those who wish to do the full route, but detail of alternatives given in briefing before start. See TWAC fb for more detail.
Tuesday Reps/Intervals
Meet 6.50 at the shelter between the Trop and Revo.
This week there will be two sessions:
Jim and Carol will take a pyramid session of 2x1min, 2x2min, 2x3min, 1x4min and return.
Nick will take a session of hill Reps on South Road.
Both sessions meet between Trop and Revo. Both sessions suitable for everybody
The Wednesday swim sessions 20.20 to 21.30 at Burnham-on-Sea pool
Over winter is the ideal time to brush up and develop your swimming technique, ideal prep for next season. Suitable for beginners to seasoned triathletes, injured runners – develop your aerobic capacity and muscles you didn’t know existed
Sessions can be booked in blocks of five (£32.50) or ten (£55.00) ad hoc PAYG (£6.50) sessions occasionally available, for PAYG – please ask if there’s space prior to session

The next block of sessions starts at the beginning of December but attendance before then can be arranged if space available.
You need to be a fully paid-up WAC member to access sessions.

Thursday – Group runs from Hutton Moor. Meet car park at 6.50.
Route for 2/11 will be the Fartlek route.
Saturday 8AM session – See WAC social for confirmation of meeting place and time later in the week.
