Weekly forecast

The forecast for the next couple of days promises to continue this very windy period and then hopefully calm down a bit to just unsettled after that but with a promise of stronger wind and hail on Thursday. Max daytime temperatures of 7 to 12 and night temperatures of 1 to 7. North Westerly flow of winds strong to start with then becoming moderate after that.

Off-Road race results

Saturday the 19th saw the 4th Gwent league cross country event of the season take place at Blaise Castle, this was also one of the club championship races. The wind and rain of the recent period made for a very demanding course, but our Ladies did particularly well finishing fourth club overall behind B&W, Chepstow, and Westbury Harriers with over sixty clubs represented. Susan Duncan was 10th overall in 30.21, followed by Alice Smith 12th overall in 30.28, Ollie Elliott in 33.36, Katie Gormley in 33.59 and Charlie Hurcum in 35.56.

The men’s team finished 26th overall with over eighty teams represented. Times are not yet in, but Will Fuller was 1st WAC counter in 25th overall, Kevin Bale was 40th overall followed by Cameron Slater and Adrian Noble.

Great running by everybody who represented the club.

Road race results

Just one result that we are aware of today. The Chilly 10k road race and Duathlon took place at Castle Coombe Sunday 20th. Georgie Ford was the sole WAC runner in the very windy 10k, but this did not stop her from recording a new pb of 48.30 and finish second Senior lady.
