Off-Road race results

Sunday 2nd saw probably the biggest ever show of yellow in support of the Weston Hospicecare Mendip Challenges. We had at least 44 members take part in the 30-mile event and many more in the 20-mile, 10-mile and 5-mile events. It was great to see so many supporting Team Sarah and great to see many families of children and dogs doing the 5-mile and 10-mile events in the sun.

Provisional results show that Andy Popham was 1st man overall in 5.13.05, Chris Selman 2nd WAC man in 5.43.43 and Rob Mountford 3rd WAC man in 5.52.31. Hannah Keating was 1st lady overall in 5.43.44 followed by Susan Duncan in 5.52.36 and Bex Vaughan in 6.23.16.

We will put all the 30-mile results on the website as an event so that everybody has an off-road ultra time in their records.

A large field also took part this year in the 20-mile event starting from the Cider Barn at Cheddar. Marc Whiting was 1st man back at the cricket club so quickly the finish was still being set up in 3.48.28. Maria Davidson was 1st lady overall in 4.33.25.

Multi Event results

Bank holiday Monday saw Niki Fulstow and Mark Hill take part in the Westonbirt Sprint Tri. Niki finished in 1.27.15 and 5th Supervet, Mark finished in 1.29.34 and 8th Supervet 60.

Sunday saw 6 members take part in the Cotswold 113 (1.2 miles swim, 56-mile bike, 13.1 mile run). The hot weather did not make things easier for the athletes who finished: Michelle Lynam 6.49.11, Sarah Wheatley 7.29.51, Tarisa barker 7.37.19, Shaleen Summers 8.00.25, Tracey Dyer 8.11.10 and Judit Salamon 8.24.20.
