Weekly forecast
The weather forecast this week shows some change with a pleasant lack of rain in it until Saturday. The wind will remain predominantly westerly, moderate dropping to gentle for most to the week. Light cloud and sunny intervals will give Max day temperature 11 to 13 and minimum night temperatures 5 to 9.
Road race results
Saturday saw four runners take part in the Clevedon parkrun one of the 5k championship races. John Davidson was 1st WAC man in 21.56 followed by Steve Lovell in 22.17, Rob Osment in 22.18 and Colin Lintern in 27.45
Sunday saw four club members take part in the Castle Combe Chilly 10k which had been added to the championship in place of the Wellington monument race. The motor racing circuit which is covered three times was exposed to a strong wind, but it did not stop Rob Robertson from achieving a new pb of 38.19. Steve Lovell was 2nd WAC man in 40.04 followed by John Davidson in 42.35, also a new pb, and Rob Osment in 46.10.
On Saturday Caz Hall helped a partially sighted runner complete her 97th marathon by guiding her the whole 26.2 miles in her first long guiding experience.
Off-Road race results
No Races that we are aware of this week for WAC runners.
Multi Event results
No races that we are aware of this week, but a special event took place on Friday night to celebrate Margaret Sills’s achievements over many years as she decides to take a rest from entering races for the foreseeable future.

A new tab has been added to the website under members/2023 Championship which is a points summary. The latest summary will show the position after the Prom run on the 9/11/23.
A link has been added on the points summary page making it easier for you to find the detailed points position and list of the 2023 championship races.

Tuesday Seafront Training 21/11/23
Following the opening of the Icescape rink at the Tropicana until January 24 we expect the area in front of the Tropicana to become increasingly busy together with parking nearby.
From this Tuesday 21/11 we will meet 6.50 at the smaller shelter (with glass in the windows) 200 metres South of the Trop (enter Marine Parade via Royal Sands).
Weather permitting there will be a choice of two sessions:
Session one
3x3min rpe 7/8 rolling recovery.
5x30secs fast with 30secs rolling recovery
3x3min rpe 7/8 rolling recovery.
5x30secs fast with 30secs rolling recovery.
2x2min rpe 8/9 rolling recovery.
2x1min rpe 8/9 rolling recovery.

Xmas Cracker Task allocation
Nicky Baker has now posted the task allocation sheet for everybody to view. This has been posted to the WAC Social fb pages and a copy sent to the email address held in Membermojo of every member. (if you do not immediately see the mail, please check your spam folder, or drop Nicky a mail/message and ask for a copy)
This year, more than ever, many members will have at last two tasks so please take time to look and make sure that you know what your roles are and where you need to be and at what time. We understand that changes happen so if you are no longer able to help for part, or all, of the time please make sure that you let Nicky know as soon as you are aware so that she can manage the changes needed.
TWAC
TWAC session this week 20/11/23 is titled ‘Baz’s TWAC Challenge’ meet 6.50 Uphill boatyard.
The details for this session are a mystery from Baz so you will have to turn up to find out what the session will be.
But we can guarantee ‘the best night ever.!!!’
This session will be for all abilities and no pressure on pace or distance.
You MUST have……

Head torch (charged up or spare batteries)
Appropriate clothing for the weather

The Wednesday swim sessions 20.20 to 21.30 at Burnham-on-Sea pool
Over winter is the ideal time to brush up and develop your swimming technique, ideal prep for next season. Suitable for beginners to seasoned triathletes, injured runners – develop your aerobic capacity and muscles you didn’t know existed
Sessions can be booked in blocks of five (£32.50) or ten (£55.00) ad hoc PAYG (£6.50) sessions occasionally available, for PAYG – please ask if there’s space prior to session

The next block of sessions starts at the beginning of December but attendance before then can be arranged if space available.
You need to be a fully paid-up WAC member to access sessions.

Saturday 8AM session – See WAC social for confirmation of meeting place and time later in the week.
