Weekly forecast
The forecast shows the weather changing markedly from about mid-day Monday 14th.
The wind will change from the Southerly direction that has led to such mild weather over the last few days to a Westerly direction that will bring wetter and windier weather. The day temperatures of 11 to 13 and night temperatures of 4 to 10 will be closer to average with wind strength ranging from moderate to fresh.

Saturday saw 5 WAC runners race in the Blaise Castle Gwent league cross country event.
No results are currently available but Chris McMillan, Steve Lovell, Adrian Noble and Guy Bradford represented the men with Katie Gormley representing the Clubs ladies.

Saturday also saw 5 WAC runners take part in the Lemur loop 12hr race. This sees runners complete as many loops of the hilly 6-mile course as they can/wish in the 12-hour period. Clare Harvey completed 7 loops to finish 2nd lady overall completing 42 miles, Sam Edwards completed 5 loops for a 30-mile ultra. The team of 3 WAC men, Rob Robertson, Rob Mountford, and Kev Bale worked together finishing in 6th place overall after having completed 9 loops for 54 miles and 7800ft of climb.
Sunday saw the Bitton Runners organised Sodbury Slog take place with 22 WAC runners take part, the rain over the last few weeks put the course in ideal conditions and the weather was ideal for it too. Chris McMillan ran his second event of the weekend to finish 2nd overall in 58.31, Bill Green finished 2nd WAC man and 5th V50 in 1.17.35 with Marc Whiting 3rd WAC man in 1.21.58. Paul Snelling finished 5th V50 in 2.30.18. Laura Fricker was 1st WAC lady and 5th SF in 1.22.40 followed by Hannah Keating in 1.24.20 and Sheryl Selway in 1.32.42.
Yvonne Rogers travelled to Wales and took part in the tough looking Cardiff trail half marathon. Yvonne covered the course with 1665 ft of climb in 2.19.

Christmas Cracker Entry
The entries for the 2022 race on the 4th of December close next Sunday on the 20th of November. If you know anybody who wants to take part, please remind them to enter now.
London marathon ballot
Thanks to the people who have sent confirmation of entry of previous running or not. We are still awaiting this from 20 people or so.

To qualify to enter the ballot you must:
Be individually affiliated to EA
Have been a member for more than 12 months (been through a renewal)
Have entered and been rejected from the general ballot
The Monday TWAC session 14/11 will meet at 6.50 at Uphill boatyard. The session is named ‘Bells and Whistles’ and will be interval based – See TWAC fb group for full detail and W3W address.
Tuesday night training this week will be a 5k handicap for everybody to make up for there not being a prom run in November to test your pace – Meet at the shelter between the Tropicana and Revo at 6.50 for 7.00 Session and there will be a 1-mile warm up to the entrance to Uphill where the 30-minute runners will start at 7.15. Earlier starts will be available if required but please let Sheryl Selway or Jim Wotton know and if you have not done a handicap race in the last 2 years, please let them know your desired target time.
The Wednesday swim sessions at Burnham-on-Sea pool re-started 14/9. The sessions need to be booked and paid for – please email Margaret and Charlotte at westonacmultisports@gmail.com
Saturday sessions 8.00am – These sessions are suitable for all abilities. 19/11 run led by Jason detail TBC suitable for all abilities.
We now have the November code for the 10% discount and free postage on orders from Sportsshoes (min order value £50). This code is on the WAC members social fb page for WAC member use only. Please ask Jim, Helen, or Julia if you do not access to fb and wish to put in an order with them.
We currently have a full set of the yellow club kit sizes available. New members can pick up their kit after training on Tuesday night at the seafront. Come along at about 6.50 or 7.45/8.00 and find Jim Wotton. If you cannot get to the seafront let Chris Loach or Jim Wotton know and we will see what we can do. Ladies kit comes in sizes 8, 10, 12 etc.

Tuesday session – Meet from 6.50pm on the seafront between Tropicana and Revo for this week’s session which will be the 5K handicap.
Wednesday See above– Swimming sessions re-start this week – See above
Thursday – Group runs from Hutton Moor. All groups including group 6 meet HM car park at 6.50 for 7.00 – route this week will be Leader’s choice.
Saturday AM session – 8.00am
