Welcome to the official February Race in the 2023/24 Series review.

Quick Note: There is a delayed March Prom Race, now having to be held later on April (4th) and the official April Race will be on the 18th April.

This month’s Race was still very wet, but less cold and less windy. It allowed the 178 adults and 18 Juniors to complete the events of the evening.

Times were none the less still very good, with Robert Stewart (Bristol & West AC) coming home in 26:03  ahead of Callum Moore (Great Western Runners) in 26:15, and Robert Fasrley (Bitton Road Runners) in third with a time of 26:32.

Darren Stacey was first WAC runner home in 27:39, 8th overall and once again first MV40 overall.

Chris Selman as second WAC in 28:16, and third WAC runner was Kieron Summers in 28:43.

Elaina Gard (Bristol & West AC) was first Female home in overall 29th place in a time of 30:38, with Aimee Hargreaves (Bristol & West AC) as second Female in a time of 31:13.

Alice Smith was officially 3rd Female overall and first WAC Female home with a time of 31:39 in overall 37th place but also 1st FV40.

So Laura Fricker in overall 4th Female placing in a time of 31:46, was given the 3rd place Female overall.

There was a new winner – Connor Price  in the Junior One Mile distance in a time of 05:30, with the first female Amelia Cooke (7-11) coming in 3rd overall with a fast time of 06:16.

Well Done again to Heath Hughes Davies, once more finishing in 4th place overall but first R6 category with a time of 06:11.

Elizabeth Salter was first Female R6 finisher in 08:11 and Eva Hawkins in 2nd R6 Female spot with a time of 08:30.

An even greater effort from Danny Hemmens in the R6 category, who came in with a time of 17:11 and as the smallest and youngest competitor, who even while struggling to complete the event, was encouraged by his entourage to get there in the end. Very Well done to him.

These Juniors stay strong and are getting faster. Well done to all of them.

Thank you to all the organisers and marshals at tonight’s prom, always providing the runners with some good encouragement and managing to keep themselves well protected from the damp evening.

Congratulations to all finishers.

Well Done to you all for your great efforts.
